New National President
Monday, May 23, 2011

Welcome to all Transplant Nursing Association members, associated members, potential members and visitors to our TNA website! My name is Bronwyn Levvey and I am the current TNA National President, (Oct 2010-Oct 2012).

I have been a member of the TNA for over 15 years, having joined not long after I commenced working with the cardiothoracic transplantation team at The Alfred Hospital (Melbourne, Australia) in 1995. With more than 10 years experience working in cardiothoracic ICU since obtaining my critical care qualifications in 1988, followed by B Ed Studies and Grad Dip in Clinical Epidemiology in the ‘90’s, I my first role in transplantation was working as a heart transplant clinical research coordinator. In 2000 I decided lung transplantation was more interesting and challenging, thus have been with the Lung Transplant Service since. I now have the ‘official title’ of Lung Transplant Service Coordinator, and whilst this position is a less ‘traditional’ transplant coordination or nursing role, it encompasses many aspects of organ donation and transplant nursing, coordination, research, education and allows me to work with a fantastic multi-disciplinary team.
Being a member of the TNA has so many benefits; the opportunity to develop professional and networking relationships with colleagues from organ donation, transplantation, allied health and social science disciplines; receive 3 copies of the Transplant Journal of Australasia per year; access to our members only section of the website and most importantly the opportunity to forge strong and long term friendships with like-minded colleagues. So if you are not yet a member, please join us now!
