What is the 2010 TNA Conference?
The 2010 Transplant Nurses Association Conference is themed; “The Shifting Sands of Transplantation”, to capture the tidal wave of pre and post transplant change and challenge, nationally and worldwide. The Conference will seek to understand, report upon and respond to the ever developing transplantation and organ donation knowledge base, whilst assisting us identify the emerging practice and research directions towards which we might sail. Keynote, Main and Concurrent sessions will address ethical framework, capacity and technique for and implications of: assessing, strengthening and supporting patients and families at the varied stages of the lifespan and of the treatment journey. Amongst this, will be themes of ageing, co-morbidities, emotional depletion, youth, mental health, new treatment opportunities, and donor/recipient marginality. Sub-themes could include: “The Deep Blue Sea”, “Below the Murky Waters…”, “Just popping up for Air”, “Surfin’ the Waves… and Lovin’ it..” or “On Top of the World…” . It is hoped that all delegates will be inspired by the atmosphere provided by one of Australia’s top resorts… Sea World!! Surprises will abound and you are guaranteed a dolphin of a time…
Who will attend this Conference?
The 2010 Transplant Nurses Association (TNA) Conference will welcome all people working within the Australasian or International transplant field – particularly nurses, allied health workers and other health care professionals, who share interest in the nursing, the psycho-social, the scientific , the ethical, and the global aspects, trends of and influences upon; transplantation. Expect a dizzying array of poster and oral presentations, from Invited Speakers, TNA Members and Others. The broad appeal of “The Shifting Sands” will capture the interest of a diverse audience who embrace the adage: “Look back to the early transplant shore, look towards the transplant horizon, be in awe of the transplant sea, be both its servant and its master.”
